Auckland Polo Club is nestled in picturesque countryside in the village of Clevedon, just 40 minutes drive from downtown Auckland. The Club's beautiful grounds include two polo fields, with use of four more in close vicinity and, on the sideline of the No 1 Fisher field, a fabulous 'country' style clubhouse. Chukkas are played midweek throughout the season and practices give way to tournaments from mid December till April. With a compact polo calendar the club endeavors to accommodate all levels of player and enjoys a fun, inclusive atmosphere.
The Staple and Highlight of the National Polo Calendar is hosted by Auckland Polo Club, The Prestigious NZ Polo Open, 24 low goal teams and 6 high-goal teams descend into Clevedon for 'The Open'. The tournament climaxes, after a week of pool matches, with the grand final played in front of a crowd of thousands on Sunday 16th February 2025. Skill, horsemanship, passion and parties . . . its amazing! We welcome everyone to come and join us for a great day out! For the last 6 years The Auckland Polo Club has also hosted the increasingly popular Cambridge Homes Charity Weekend, held on the last weekend in January to fundraise for the local volunteer based Clevedon Fire Brigade. Having raised over $35,000 for them during the last few years, it has become a staple must attend fun family day out for the surrounding areas.
